A ‘Cuppa Joe’ With a Kick – DIY Coffee Cocktails

LuxuryYorkville’s  Kim Kerr shares her favourite coffee cocktail recipes for a Thanksgiving (or any time!) tipple

There’s never really an excuse needed to enjoy a good cup of coffee. In fact, the mere act of waking up in the morning is, in my mind, reason enough to celebrate life with a ‘cuppa joe’.

So imagine how pleased I was to learn that this scintillating dark beverage has gone and gotten its very own special day! Yes, folks, we all love coffee. And to prove just how much we love it, apparently we’ve set aside a day to celebrate this maker of mornings, this giver of short bursts of energy. So let’s hear it for… National Coffee Day!

Coffee Cocktails Hit the Spot!

In fact, our coffee fix is shipped in from 30 developing nations around the globe. And while some two thirds of adults enjoying at least a single cup of coffee a day, our average as a nation is over three cups per day (so someone’s drinking a lot more than that, right?).

To celebrate National Coffee Day, what could be better than combining our love of caffeine with our love of great cocktail experiences?

I for one am going to do that very thing, and hope you’ll join me in trying one or two (maybe all three!) of the DIY coffee-based cocktails provided to me by the purveyors of Reyka Vodka, Monkey Shoulder Whisky, and Hendrick’s Gin.

So… here’s to National Coffee Day. Chin chin!
